Distributed Multirate Interacting Multiple Model (DMRIMM) Filtering with Out-of-Sequence GMTI Data

چکیده
This paper develops a distributed approach for fusing GMTI data with out-of-sequence (OOS) measurements. A multirate interacting multiple model (MRIMM) fusion algorithm is developed for e®ectively fusing multirate information. To incorporate an OOS measurement, two major steps are needed: retrospection from current time to OOS time and updating the current estimate with the OOS measurement, which imposes a high computation and memory burden on implementing OOS ̄ltering. The multirate approach provides an excellent framework for e±cient information retrospection and forward update. The combination of global MRIMM fusion and local MRIMM tracking proves to be powerful for tracking and fusing maneuvering and nonmaneuvering targets in an environment of OOS measurement reporting.

Comparison of the KF and Particle Filter Based Out-of-Sequence Measurement Filtering Algorithms
Current out-of-sequence measurement (OOSM) filtering algorithms belong to two distinct classes, Kalman filter (KF) or extended KF (EKF) based and particle filter (PF) based. This paper compares the performances of the multiple-lag KF and PF based OOSM filtering algorithms for a number of scenarios with linear dynamic and measurement models with additive Gaussian noises first. The KF with in-seq...
متن کاملComparison of Nonlinear Filtering Algorithms in Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) Tracking
The ground moving target indicator (GMTI) radar sensor plays an important role in situation awareness of the battlefield, surveillance, and precision tracking of ground targets. The extended Kalman filter (EKF) is usually used either alone or in the Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) framework to solve nonlinear filtering problems. Since the GMTI measurement model is nonlinear, the use of an EKF ...

1 Proc. Fifth International Conference on Information Fusion (Fusion 2002), Annapolis, MD, U.S.A. Abstract Out-of-sequence measurements (OOSMs) arise in a multi-sensor central-tracking system due to communication network delays and varying preprocessing times at the sensor platforms. During the last few years a great deal of research has focussed attention on the OOSM filtering problem. However...
متن کاملTen Methods to Fuse GMTI and HRRR Measurements For Joint Tracking and Identification
Mutual-aided target tracking and identification (ID) schemes are described by exploiting the couplings between the target tracking and object ID systems, which are typically implemented separately. A hybrid state space approach is formulated to deal with continuous-valued kinematics, discrete-valued target type, and discrete-valued target pose (inherently continuous but quantized). We identify ...
متن کاملOn Tracking-driven Road Map Extraction from Gmti Radar Data
For analyzing dynamic scenarios characterized by many ground moving vehicles, airborne GMTI radar is a well-suited sensor due to its wide-area, all-weather, day/night, and real time capabilities (GMTI: Ground Moving Target Indicator). The generation of GMTI tracks from these data is the backbone for producing a “recognized ground picture” as well as for analyzing traffic flows. In this paper we...
